Often photos on sites make a place look better than it actually is. Auberge de Castel-Merle is so much better than the photos led me to expect. We chose to eat in for dinner, and the first night’s meal was excellent. The host had to be away from the hotel the next day so the meal was not of the same standard, but we would eat in again on a future visit.
